SoLA's second voyage was to the Firefly festival in Vermont over the 4th of July weekend.

3/14ths of SoLA was displayed as three circles.

Inside these rings, people danced, together and with shadows,

We have been busy building prototypes

Cris set up a SoLAWiki for the project

Have setup a studio for SoLA construction

The studio has various power sources (supplies and batteries), electronic components, two tables and an overhead projector

Prototype: LEDs have been embedded into resin

Prototype: Concrete bases have been molded

Found 3 inch domes for casting

Carl is working on the design of Activation Disks

Cris is working on the design of the controllers for the Pods

Sage and Ryan are working on the casting resin, molds and concrete

Electronics meeting was successful and parts for the prototypes are being ordered

Main concerns addressed: scale-up and consider voltage drop around ring

The SoLA development team is coming together

John Major and Liza Vitale have joined the construction team

Carl Gruesz, Bob Rees and Cris Wagner have joined the electronics team

 

Vendors for LEDs and Epoxy are being contacted and samples requested

An Autocad scale model for wiring and layout has been initiated

Options for electronic components are being discussed
